This series contains the administrative files maintained by the Chiefs of Staff in the Governor's Office for 1987. During the initial year of the Martinez administration, the duties of the Chief of Staff were split into a Chief of Staff for External Affairs and a Chief of Staff for Internal Affairs. These positions were held by J. M. "Mac" Stipanovich and Jim Smith, respectively. The series consists of agency files and subject files for the year 1987. The records include correspondence, memoranda, reports, publications, and newspaper clippings.
